Rock Point Ranch
This was a s pectacular 1 00 0 acre property. Almost five miles of the Lower Big Hole River coursed through heavily timbered bottomlands’ and irrigated fields tucked between rolling foothills and rocky ledges. R a nches of the West (ROW) assisted with acquisition, due diligence, and disposition of the ranch. ROW compiled the improvement plan, and supervised all work on the ranch. Dramatic improvements to the ranch compound, ponds, slough, fencing, changes in grazing management, beaver control, and strict recreational guidelines resulted in increases AUMs (animal unit months) and increases in a variety of big game populations , particularly trophy while tail deer, fi s h eries stability and very significant value increases for the owners. The ranch was subject to a con servation easement. The ranch was sold in the ear ly 2000’s.
